Per artist's application for the 2016 HM Indian Fair & Market: Huhukam Convergence Dress is made of low-sheen satin & silver lame' ; it is an appliqued traditional Pima dress, hand cut & sewn using a single needle; the handcrafted appliqué Huhukam pottery designs represent the convergence of spiritual worlds between the Huhukam & O'odham that occur at sunrise. Maricopa Wedding Gown is made of tulle, lining, satin, sequins, metallic ribbons & chiffon; this ethereal wedding gown is a traditional Pee-Posh dress with an exaggerated silhouette. Made with only 3 seams, this gown is whimsical and can fit any size. Traditional sandals are made of tanned cowhide, sinew, suede & leather string. Saguaro Cactus Fruit Dancing Sticks are made of Arrow weeds that grew at the banks of the Salt River, these sticks are wrapped in dyed Pima cotton yarn in large blocks that depict the desert floor with a tall fruiting Saguaro cactus with a blue sky above; these sticks are danced with by O'odham women and are considered lighting rods to God. The 16 feathers are from the same bird and are in groups in 4 in 4 tiers, as 4 is a sacred number.
